Biography: T.J. Budge joined Racine Olson in 2006 after earning his law degree from the University of Idaho where he competed on the U of I National Moot Court Team, worked as a legal writing teaching assistant, and interned with the Office of the Idaho Attorney General in the Idaho Department of Water Resources. Mr. Budge’s practice is focused on real estate, natural resource, and water law.Mr. Budge has assisted clients on a wide range of complex transactions, administrative proceedings, litigation, and appeals. Specifically, he has advised clients with regard to water rights, stream alteration, the Clean Water Act, real estate transactions, land development, agriculture, easements, eminent domain, mining, energy, and other areas. He has argued cases before the Idaho Supreme Court, Snake River Basin Adjudication court, Idaho Department of Water Resources, United States Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, and planning and zoning boards throughout eastern Idaho.Mr. Budge has conducted comprehensive water rights analyses for municipalities, corporations, developers, banks, irrigation companies, and large farming operations, and he played an integral role in recent monumental cases involving management of the Snake River and the vast Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer. His comprehensive understanding of both the history and law of Idaho’s water resources enables him to provide clear and cost-effective solutions to complex water right problems that confront his clients.
